Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls, automata and time travellers,

The Haberdashery Collective is proud to present another in our series of spectacles, bringing you the best in modern play. Join us on 21st April from 2pm for Spring Spectacular, an afternoon of delightful fripperies. Begin with some amuse esprit to tempt your palate as our group of debonair thrill seekers gather, then pit your cunning scheme against your opponents in Stratego-go-go, dazzle your rivals with your lexicographical skill in Angrygrams, and enjoy an early preview of the recently discovered parts for persons of the mechanical persuasion in Automata Assembly.

If this intrigues you, you may acquire a note of introduction from here.

Should these activities fail to sate your appetites, we may well have something more for you on 6th May, we shall report back.

Toodle pip,

The Haberdashery Collective

You can find the Facebook event here.

As a slight break in between Big Games we are simply going to invite you all to play some board games in a pub. Sounds like a lovely way to spend a Sunday doesn’t it?

We will be upstairs at the Reliance in Shoreditch from about 2pm with a random assortment of complex and not so complex board games. Please join us for play and banter and hangover recovery and the odd argument about the rules (no cheating!). Tasty food will be available and feel free to bring any games which you want to play with us.

From 2pm
Sunday 18th March

The Reliance,
336 Old St.,
Shoreditch,
EC1V 9DR

We will be bringing some or all of the following:
Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Nightfall, Witches Brew, Citadels, Kill Doctor Lucky, Perquackey, San Juan, Dixit, Bananagrams, Revolution and more…

Don’t let the long evenings get you down! Come in from the cold and join us at a secret location near London Bridge for indoor versions of all our favourite games. There will be sneaking, bluffing, trading, gold, guns, drugs, lying, negotiation, betrayal and… well… anagrams.

Get your free ticket in advance from eventbrite to make sure we keep you a seat. Drinks and snacks will be available throughout.
We will be playing:

Angrygrams
A fast and furious game of bluffing, switching and fighting for letters to make sure you get the longest and best word.
Betray your best friends for an R. Lie about a T. And be sure to watch your Ps and Qs…

East India Company Game
A specially adapted indoor version of our game of trading and opium smuggling on the high seas.
Trade in tea and spices! Evade customs! Collapse China’s economy! And how the hell to get rid of all this wool?

Fairness, Inc.
You’ve finished the heist, evaded the police and got the gold back to the hideout. Now the real trouble begins. With so much at stake, who can you trust to get your fair share of the loot?
Stay cool under pressure. Be sure of your aim. And survive to collect the pot!

Special bonus game:
It happens that 11 February is Sarah Palin’s birthday! To help celebrate appropriately, we’ll play an extra game of pin the something, well, anything, on the Sarah Palin. A prize for the best pinner and the best thing brought to pin on her…

Saturday 17th December, 1pm-3pm, near Brick Lane

While others are battling through the shopping crowds, you should come and join The Haberdashery Collective for some wintry fun. It’s not quite the solstice, but if you squint…

Warm up with a twist on an old favourite with Blink and You’re It, put your tradecraft to work in Tinker Tailor Soldier Haberdasher, then combine your covert skills with a touch of martial bluster in Stratego-go-go. Finally, we’ll retire to a hostelry and listen to tales of your victories. Maybe a saga will be sung…

The event is free but ticketed, get your ticket here.

These games will involve walking around a busy place, and perhaps some ducking behind scenery, so please come dressed appropriately – high heels are risky, coats are probably useful, and fluorescent colours have been known to reduce your stealth…

The location is outdoors, so we will be subject to weather. We’ll run in light rain (or snow!), but cancel for anything less pleasant. Cancellations will be notified by email by 10am on the day.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us — and we hope to see you there!

Welcome to The Haberdashery Collective‘s first London event!

Newsflash: This event is now free of charge! However, you must still register for a ticket, see below.

Please join us on Saturday 5th November at 12pm in Central London (somewhere near London Bridge — exact location to be confirmed via email closer to the day) for a playtest…

Come and enjoy the bustle of the marketplace, sometimes physical, sometimes abstract. Find comrades and evade potential watchers as you attempt to get information from the insider to your contact in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Haberdasher; and trade goods across the seas as the East India Company opens new markets, and in no way uses its influence for its own ends* in Schooner or Later.

* Rumours of smuggling in this game cannot be confirmed or denied, it is policy not to comment on speculation.

This is a ticketed event, please go to http://themarketplace.eventbrite.co.uk/ to register for tickets.

These games will involve walking around a busy place, and perhaps some ducking behind scenery, so please come dressed appropriately. The area is mostly sheltered from weather, but is outdoors, so unless it’s pouring we’ll go ahead. Cancellations will be notified by email by 10am on the day.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us — and we hope to see you there!
